The Country House Torre Burchio is an estate of about 600 hectares situated in an area of hillside covered in Mediterranean type woodland and olive groves. There are 3 small lakes, one of which is available for sports fishing. In the surrounding woodland, it is possible to admire and photograph the many species of animals living free in their natural habitat: moufflons, deer, including fallow deer, wild boar, pheasants, partridges, hares, squirrels. Torre Burchio is the ideal place for a holiday in close contact with nature, far from the noise and stress of crowded streets; it is a place where you can relax completely, breathe in clean air, practise different sports (trekking, horse-riding, tennis, jogging, fishing, swimming), and deepen your knowledge of the Art cities and towns such as Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Bevagna and Spello.
The main building of the country house dates back to 1880, and has been completely refurbished although still maintaining its original characteristics. The decor of all the rooms has been chosen with particular care, the floors are in cotto terracotta tiling, the ceilings are wooden-beamed. The furniture in some of the rooms is antique, in the others of the typical "arte povera". Particular attention has also been paid to the smaller details such as the pictures, flower arrangements, bedspreads, rugs and other decorations; all the rooms have en-suite bathroom, telephone, TV.
Behind the house, there is another building, characterised by its large windows and multivalent spaces, which is the ideal solution for meetings, training courses and business gatherings. Descending towards the house, there is the swimming pool, close to which there is also the area for playing bowls and the mountain bike storage area.
At about 4 km from the main area, still within the estate, there is a beautiful, old, farmhouse dating from the end of the 1700’s which has an internal courtyard with various types of apartments. Beside it there is an annexe, built recently in full respect of the local architecture, where, on the ground floor there are still more apartments with their own, reserved external area. Close to the country house, there are the horse-riding stables, a tennis court and a second swimming pool. At the stables, it is possible to take lessons or a course in horse riding and also to go trekking, horse-riding, and participate in the special events which are organised all year round.
The stables also have a club-house and is ideal for those without particular experience with horses, but who wish to learn to get to know them, to ride them confidently and without fear; this is also an excellent place for horse riding experts, who will find a friendly atmosphere and the most beautiful horses on which go on beautiful rides through natural surroundings.
Every day, home-made style, we make bread, pastries, cakes and biscuits. We can also organise, for a minimum number of persons, cooking courses and dégustation of oil and wine.
